The newest members to California's Legislature were sworn into office this week, among them was Assemblymember Tom Daly (D-Anaheim). Tom Daly represents the 69th Assembly District which includes the cities of Santa Ana, Anaheim, Garden Grove and Orange.
"Assemblymember Daly has a great deal of experience," said California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) President Alan Barcelona. "He's had boots-on-the-ground, he knows what it takes to keep public safety going, he knows what it takes to negotiate a contract. He's a welcome addition to the California State Assembly."
As an invited guest, Barcelona sat beside Assemblymember Daly at the new state lawmaker's pre-swearing in dinner Sunday night . He was also in attendance as Assemblymember Daly took the oath of office. The ceremony was held on the Assembly Floor at the State Capitol on Monday.
"I'm deeply honored to serve as a representative of Assembly District 69," said Daly in a statement that appeared on his website. "It is crucial that we focus our efforts in the State Capitol to help create more jobs and improve the economy."
