On Friday, February 8th, the Hospital Police Association of California (HPAC) board members met in Sacramento at the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) headquarters to discuss the many issues facing HPAC members.
Some of the issues discussed included this year's budget, labor negotiations, contract proposals and the Department of State Hospital Director's response to a meeting with HPAC/CSLEA regarding the firearms legislation for hospital peace officers.
The HPAC board met with CSLEA Chief Counsel Kasey Clark, CSLEA Legislative Consultant Craig Brown, CSLEA Unit A Vice President Kenny Ehrman, CSLEA Legal Counsel Ryan Navarre, CSLEA Director of Membership Paul Satkowski and CSLEA Communications Director Teri Cox.
"This meeting was educational and informational for all of us," said HPAC President Luis Jimenez. "Our goal is to continue to reach out to our members, support them in their careers and protect them as they serve to protect others."
