"We urge that AFSCME cease all effforts to decertify CSLEA, and point out that labor unity is needed to protect all of our members." - Tyler Izen, President, Los Angeles Police Protective League
August 26, 2013
To Our Valued CSLEA Members,
CSLEA continues to receive letters of support from law enforcement associations deploring the attempt by POC & AFSCME to decertify your California Statewide Law Enforcement Association.
The most recent letter from the president of the Los Angeles Police Protective League ("League") urges AFSCME to cease its efforts and build the strength of unions, not weaken them.
Also rejecting the POC/AFSCME decertification attempt and in support of CSLEA is PORAC and OC COPS.
I want to thank League President Tyler Izen for recognizing the decertification attempt for what it is, a money grab by AFSCME that weakens the labor movement.
Again, thank you for your service to the state of California and for your patience in this attempt to decertify CSLEA.
Sincerely,
Alan Barcelona
CSLEA President
