"We believe that the union busting efforts by AFSCME and a group of disenchanted state employees calling themselves POC is appalling." - Stephen James, President, California Coalition of Law Enforcement Associations
On September 5, 2013 CSLEA received overwhelming support from the California Coalition of Law Enforcement Associations (CCLEA) which deplores the attempt by POC & AFSCME to decertify the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA).
In a letter to CSLEA President Alan Barcelona, CCLEA President Stephen James called the efforts of AFSCME and POC "entirely self-serving and not in the best interest of the membership."
"I thank CCLEA President Stephen James and all the law enforcement associations in the state who are in support of CSLEA and recognize the decertification attempt by POC/AFSCME for what it is, a money grab by AFSCME and a small group of 'disenchanted state employees calling themselves POC,'" said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona.
Also rejecting the POC/AFSCME decertification attempt and in support of CSLEA are: PORAC , OC COPS , the Los Angeles Police Protective League and the Southern California Alliance Of Law Enforcement.
