The Association of Motor Carrier Operation Specialists (AMCOS) Board of Directors is on a mission to reach out and touch motor carrier specialists and school pupil transportation safety coordinators throughout the state.
"We are gearing up for a very important year at the bargaining table in 2016 and it's not too early to unite on the issues we must press for," said AMCOS President & CSLEA Unit B Vice President Terry Beatty.
To date, AMCOS has recently held membership outreach meetings in the Southern, Central and Border Divisions. AMCOS is scheduled to meet with members in the Inland Division on March 25, 2015, the Coastal Division on March 26, 2015 and Golden Gate Division on April 1, 2015.
"I invite our members to come have lunch with us. The feedback has been positive," said Beatty. "The members and management appreciate and support our efforts. It's a great opportunity to hear what our members are experiencing on the job and how we can assist them."
"The public doesn't get to see the vital work that these CHP employees perform day in and day out," said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona. "The motor carrier specialists and school pupil transportation safety coordinators inspect the trucks we share the road with and the buses our children ride to school in. Some of them are assigned to MAIT teams, lending their expertise to investigations into some of the most horrific crashes out on our roadways. I thank them for their service to the State of California and their role in helping to keep the motoring public safe."
