VALLEJO- One December 7, 2015, California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) member services representatives met with seven motor carrier specialists new to the California Highway Patrol.
"This is a new and exciting time for these, our newest members of CSLEA," said Member Services Representative George Pina. "Being able to get in and introduce ourselves, tell them who we are and what we are about, and most importantly, how we can help them should they need it, is imperative. Anyone new to state employment will tell you, navigating through the details can be overwhelming and confusing. We are here to help."
Two of CSLEA's six attorneys are assigned to assist CSLEA members in the motor carrier job classification, CSLEA Senior Counsel Andrea Perez and Counsel Erin Eckelman. Perez and Eckelman know the classification, the issues motor carrier specialists encounter, and have a strong working relationship with CHP management.
"These are some of the things we talked about at our new employee orientation," said Pina. "We also let our new members know about the basic life insurance benefit, our exclusive members discounts program and our legal defense fund."
Joining Pina in welcoming the new motor carrier specialists December 7th was CSLEA Member Services Representative Marco Castro.
