NORTH NATOMAS – In an effort to assist the public in safely disposing prescription medication, and in an effort to combat the abuse of prescriptions meds, several members of the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) and California Association of Food and Drug Investigators (CAFDI) spent their Saturday, October 28, 2017 at prescription drug take back sites in Roseville and North Natomas.
“Thank you, to our investigators who stood guard and collected expired and or unused prescription medications for their safe disposal,” said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona. “This is a very important event as the medications will be disposed of properly so that they don’t hurt our environment and, so they don’t get into the hands of those who abuse. We can all do our part to combat the tremendous problem of prescription drug abuse in our communities.”
The drugs collected are carefully packaged in in containers that are incinerated. The prescription drugs collected at these sites cannot be re-sold, donated, repackaged, or re-dispensed.
