RIVERSIDE- On August 14, 2018, seven California Highway Patrol (CHP) dispatchers training at the Ben Clark center in Riverside took some time out to learn about their unions, the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) and the CHP-Public Safety Dispatchers Association (CHP-PSDA).
“We thank the dispatchers for their time and their interest in our benefits and services, but we also thank them for recognizing the importance of union membership and being part of an organization that will always have your back,” said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona. “Dispatching for the CHP involves very long and often stressful hours. The dispatchers have a very good network of support within CHP-PSDA and CSLEA. We appreciate their very vital role as first responders and public safety professionals.”
Representing CSLEA at the new employee orientation was Representative Shelley Bishop. Representing CHP-PSDA was Treasurer Steve Fulton. The dispatchers will be working throughout the state.
