WEST SACRAMENTO- On September 16, 2019, nine California Highway Patrol (CHP) dispatchers training at the CHP academy in West Sacramento saw the value in union membership and joined the CHP-Public Safety Dispatchers Association (CHP-PSDA) and the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA).
“Belonging to the union available to you is not only career insurance, your union offers benefits and services, and fights year-round to improve and protect salaries, jobs and pensions,” said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona. “I want to welcome our newest members and assure them that when they call with a question or need assistance, they’ll get the help they need, immediately.”
Meeting with the new dispatchers were CHP-PSDA President Tina Brazil and CSLEA Senior Counsel Andrea Perez.
As members of CSLEA and CHP-PSDA, the dispatchers receive a $15,000 life insurance benefit, access to membership insurance programs, scholarship opportunities, the CSLEA Exclusive Members Discount Program, and legal representation.
