WEST SACRAMENTO – On October 14, 2019, the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) welcomed to membership, eight California Highway Patrol (CHP) dispatchers who are currently training at the CHP academy in West Sacramento.
CSLEA Senior Counsel Andrea Perez conducted a New Employee Orientation (NEO) in which she introduced herself and CSLEA to the group.
“The academy is tough, there is an incredible amount of information to learn, absorb and know -like you’ve known it all your life,” said Perez. “NEOs allow us to drop by, say hello, talk about our benefit and services and reasons dispatchers turn on CSLEA and the CHP-Public Safety Dispatchers Association. We can help them to feel a little less overwhelmed during this training period and support them throughout their careers.”
The dispatchers will work at CHP communication centers in Vallejo, Ukiah, Ventura and Eureka.
