ANZA - On March 12, 2020, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, with the assistance of California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Riverside County Code Enforcement, California Water Board and Riverside County Animal Control, served four marijuana cultivation related search warrants in the unincorporated county area known as Anza. During the service:
- 1,393 marijuana plants were eradicated,
- 200 pounds of processed marijuana were collected
- One handgun
- and two generators were seized for evidence.
The following suspects were arrested and booked for Marijuana Cultivation:
- Hang Yang, 29, of Anza
- Julio Morfin, 21, of Moreno Valley
- Luis Morfin, 29, of Moreno Valley resident
- Jefferson Soulivong, 32, of Haltom City, Texas
- Ratsavanh Thirakoune, 37, of Fresno
- Francisco Torres, 23, of Jalisco, Mexico
- Dy Vilay, 39, of Haltom City, Texas
“CDFW wardens are a great assistance to local law enforcement departments in the battle against illegal marijuana cultivation,” said California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) President Alan Barcelona. “Their law enforcement duties include knowledge of the negative impacts illegal marijuana cultivation can have on the environment, including fish and wildlife.”
