CHP Dispatchers Take CSLEA Basic Site Representation Class

SACRAMENTO – On March 26, 2021, California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) Senior Counsel Andrea Perez conducted a Basic Site Representation class for two CHP dispatchers who currently work that the CHP Communications Center in Bakersfield.

“It’s nice when our members step forward to learn more about the union and the avenues that we use to make things work in the workplace,” said Perez.  “Site representatives are acknowledged by management as an extension of CSLEA and can pursue solutions without fear of insubordination.  We work very closely with our site representatives as they are our eyes and ears.”

Site representatives learn a lot about the Bargaining Unit Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the procedures and timelines involved with grievances, how to interact with management, when to contact the union, and how to assist their colleagues.

Thank you, Katie Brooks and Mandee Sturges,  for volunteering your time and energy to CSLEA and those you work with!
