RIVERSIDE - On May 25, 2021, CHP-Public Safety Dispatcher Association Representatives DeVon Young and Alana Haddock conducted a new employee orientation at CHP Academy Ben Clark Training Facility in Riverside. The two very experienced dispatchers and board members welcomed five new members to the CHP-PSDA and California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) family.
“We tend to go the extra miles by providing life lessons to them stemming from training and experience. We also talk about civil liability, retirement, and issues we are certain they’ll encounter in their careers at CHP,” said Young.
New employee orientations are a chance for union leaders to introduce themselves and answer questions about membership.
“There is so much that this union does, day in and day out for its members, and both Representatives Young and Haddock are a part of that effort,” said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona. “They know how unions benefit employees and have seen the changes CSLEA and CHP-PSDA have been instrumental in achieving. I thank both of them for taking the time to visit our newest members. And, to our newest members, a sincere welcome!”
