SACRAMENTO - On July 21, 2021, California Association of Fraud Investigators (CAFI) President Bruce Todd and California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) Senior Legal Counsel Jim Vitko met virtually with Northern California Department of Insurance (CDI) special investigators. Due to COVID restrictions, the meeting was held via video conference.
Special investigators raised their concerns during a lively discussion. CSLEA Legal Counsel Jim Vitko discussed member issues and advised that CSLEA had requested a meeting with CDI management. The goal of such a meeting is to address and attempt to obtain a beneficial response from management to the members’ concerns.
An update was provided on when special investigators might expect to see the salary adjustments that were obtained during the recent revisions to last year’s side letter. The benefits of union membership were also discussed and non-members were encouraged to join.
CAFI President Bruce Todd commented, “I feel we had a productive meeting. Members and non-members alike were able to see the level of concern and expertise the CSLEA legal staff bring to the table.”
Todd and Vitko told members they would advise them of the outcome of the meeting with CD management if it takes place.
