On September 21, 2021,  California Association of Fraud Investigators (CAFI) President Bruce Todd and California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) Senior Legal Counsel James Vitko attended a Joint Labor Management Committee (JLMC) meeting with the California Department of Insurance (CDI).

Attending on behalf of CDI were Deputy Commissioner George Mueller,  Investigation Division Chief Lewis DesLauriers, as well as representatives from CDI Human Resources and Labor Relations.

“These meetings are a chance for us to discuss issues that need to be addressed and will hopefully lead to solutions for some of them,” said CAFI President Bruce Todd.  “We discussed several issues of concern that were raised by CDI Special Investigators (SI’s), including management communications and style.”

These issues were raised by the SI’s during several meetings that were held with all of the CDI Investigation Division Regional Offices.

“I was happy to see that CDI management was willing to discuss these issues," said Todd.

CSLEA will be following up on issues raised and will continue to work with CDI management on issues of mutual concern.
