SAN LUIS OBISPO – On April 3, 2025, recently hired Hospital Police Officers were greeted by members of CSLEA’s Hospital Police Association of California (HPAC) Board of Directors at the Department of State Hospitals’ (DSH) Academy in San Luis Obispo.

HPAC President Luis Jimenez and Directors Ezra Cosby (HPO at Coalinga State Hospital) and Jennifer Chance (HPO at Atascadero State Hospital), along with CSLEA Legal Counsel David De La Riva informed the officers in attendance of the many benefits of signing up to become a CSLEA member.

Benefits include legal representation during disciplinary proceedings involving incidents within the course and scope of an officer’s duties as well as Legal Defense Fund representation. In addition, members receive a $15,000.00 life insurance benefit.

The meeting was attended by 24 Hospital Police Officers who will soon be graduating from the Academy.  CSLEA and HPAC wish them the very best in their careers and standing ready to assist its members.
