Happy 50th!!!

SACRAMENTO – As the California Conservation Corps celebrates its 50th anniversary, the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) and the Association of Conservationist Employees (ACE) extend a special thank you to the CCC conservationists who serve as mentors, teachers, supervisors, and role models for corpsmembers.
These professionals bring years of experience in conservation, public service, emergency response, and workforce development. In addition, some served as corpsmembers themselves, hence their saying, “We grow our own.” Every day these conservationists guide corpsmembers through hands-on learning experiences that develop not only technical skills but also confidence, responsibility, teamwork, and leadership. Not to mention the conservationists and corpsmembers are building a better tomorrow for California.
CCC conservationists teach environmental stewardship, the value of service, and safe working practices. They build strength and confidence in the young adults they work with. This takes patience, teaching skills, and positive encouragement.
Many former corpsmembers credit their supervisors with teaching them the discipline, professionalism, problem-solving, and perseverance it took for them to move on to bright futures and careers.
“Thank you to our CSLEA and ACE members, CCC conservationists who work in often challenging conditions to assist with emergencies, environmental safety improvements, and investing in our youth. The incredible work that you do, and the contributions that you make, do not go unnoticed,” said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona.
