ROSEVILLE – On June 26, 2026, Roseville police officers responded to the Walmart store on Lead Hill Boulevard, after a parked vehicle was struck by another driver. The impact was significant enough to push the victim’s vehicle completely into the adjacent parking stall. Once the victim returned to her vehicle and noticed the damage, the victim called the Roseville Police Department.

Using the store’s surveillance footage, officers watched the collision unfold and identify a Ford F-250 towing a boat as the suspect vehicle. The footage showed the driver of the suspect vehicle examine the damage to the victim car and then leave the scene without providing the required information following an accident. Officers obtained the license plate information for both the truck and trailer, allowing them to quickly track the vehicle’s movements.

The investigation led officers to Folsom Lake, where they located the suspect’s truck and trailer—but the boat was already on the water.

With assistance from California State Parks and the Placer County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit, Roseville officers boarded a patrol boat and located the suspect operating the vessel on the lake. Once back on shore, officers completed their investigation and submitted the case to the Placer County District Attorney’s Office to review for prosecution for misdemeanor hit and run (20002(a)(1)) CVC.

The Roseville Police Department extended its appreciation to California State Parks and the Placer County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit for their assistance.
