SACRAMENTO – On August 4, 2026, the California Department of Justice (DOJ) unveiled a memorial plaque at California DOJ headquarters in Sacramento, honoring the seven California DOJ special agents who lost their lives in the line of duty.
Association of Special Agents-DOJ (ASA-DOJ) President Ben Greenhagen joined DOJ employees and law enforcement partners at the ceremony which was conducted by Division of Law Enforcement (DLE) Assistant Chief Reye Diaz. ASA-DOJ was honored to contribute a wreath for the ceremony as a gesture of respect and remembrance.
“AC Diaz and the Office of the Chief did a great job in getting this memorial. This plaque provides a place to remember the fallen agents and reminds us all of their service and sacrifice. It is also a somber reminder of the dangers that California DOJ special agents face as they perform their law enforcement duties protecting the public,” said ASA-DOJ President Greenhagen. “It was an honor to attend and contribute to this ceremony.”
