COLUSA COUNTY – On July 30, 2026, the Colusa County Task Force, with the support of the Colusa Police Department, Williams Police Department, and the California Department of Fish & Wildlife (CDFW), executed a search warrant at several suspected illegal marijuana cultivation sites located in the 4000 block of Sites Lodoga Road in Stonyford.

The search warrant covered three distinct parcel locations within the Squaw Creek area of Stonyford. This operation led to the dismantling of five separate suspected illegal marijuana cultivation sites, three of which were identified by on-site specialists from the CDFW as causing harm to natural creek beds. More than 4,400 illicit marijuana plants were eradicated, and two suspects were arrested on multiple felony charges after a brief attempt to escape the scene of the search warrant.

Charges include seven counts of cultivating marijuana and polluting or damaging a waterway, along with two counts of conspiracy (felonies).

“Illegal marijuana grows put neighboring communities and our environment in harm’s way,” said California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) President Alan Barcelona.  “Clearing these grows and arresting suspects contributes to public and environmental safety.  It also helps to protect those who have the necessary permits and licenses to grow and cultivate cannabis legally.”
