WEST SACRAMENTO – The California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) and its affiliate, the CHP-Public Safety Dispatchers Association (CHP-PSDA), are pleased to welcome eight new CHP public safety dispatchers to the union family as they complete their training at the CHP Academy in West Sacramento.

On August 3, 2026, the dispatchers met with CHP-PSDA Vice President Victor Tovar and CSLEA Senior Counsel Andrea Perez to learn more about the many benefits of union membership and the resources available to support them throughout their careers.

“I love the opportunity to meet with new dispatchers at the academy and introduce them to our union,” said Perez. “Victor and I had the opportunity to talk about why union membership matters as they begin this exciting and challenging career. We answered their questions and discussed the many benefits, services, and protections available to our members. Hearing from Victor is especially meaningful because he brings decades of experience as a CHP dispatcher and continues to be a strong advocate for dispatchers through our union.”

Building connections with new members early in their careers helps to strengthen CSLEA and ensures the new dispatchers know they have experienced advocates standing beside them from day one.

Once they complete academy training, the new dispatchers will begin serving in CHP communications centers in Vallejo, Merced, Bakersfield and Stockton. CSLEA congratulates them on reaching this important milestone and looks forward to supporting them throughout their careers.
