Public Safety Dispatchers Association

California Highway Patrol Public Safety Dispatchers answer the bulk of 911 calls made from cellphones whether the caller is on the road or not.   These highly trained individuals remain calm and collected under the extreme pressure of emergencies on the other end of the line.  They also direct CHP officers toward calls, are a vital role in helping officers during pursuits, and in keeping officers safe.  CHP Public Safety Dispatchers may not physically respond to a scene, but they are truly are first responders.
