ATASCADERO – On May 1, 2017, the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) and its affiliate, Hospital Police Association of California (HPAC) welcomed 33 new state hospital police officers who are training at the Department of State Hospital’s (DSH) Academy at Atascadero State Hospital (ASH). Upon completion of their training, the officers will be assigned to one of 5 State Hospitals.
Representatives from CSLEA included Member Services Representatives Chris Scrimiger and Jim Laughlin. In attendance from HPAC were HPAC President Luis Jimenez and HPAC Board Member Ezra Cosby, both hospital police officers.
“CSLEA and HPAC conducted a new employee orientation in which the officers were able to ask questions about HPAC and CSLEA,” said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona. “HPAC President Jimenez and Board Member Cosby were able to talk to the officers about what to expect in their new careers and explain the important role CSLEA and HPAC have played in assisting hospital police officers. We welcome them to their new careers.”
