ABC Agents: Drug Paraphernalia & Gambling at Santa Clara Liquor Store

l_246_177_c1When residents complained to police about a liquor store in Santa Clara, our California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) members who are agents with Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) went to work.

On Friday, February 15, 2013, ABC agents posted a 30-day suspension notice at Hana's Bottle Shop.  Agents went in undercover during a two month period and discovered illegal gambling machines and drug paraphernalia.

"This is another example of ABC agents working with local police departments to rid neighborhoods of illegal activity," said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona.  "I hope residents know our ABC agents are at the ready.  They tackle underage drinking, drugs, illegal gambling and prostitution.  They are called on by local law enforcement agencies as well as other state law enforcement departments.  We are very proud of their efforts."
