No one wants a doctor acting inappropriately or against the law when he is examining a patient and that is where our California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) members who are investigators with the Medical Board of California step in.
Investigators with the Board’s Operation Safe Medicine, along with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) conducted an investigation that led to the arrest of Pez Abrahams, M.D. Abrahams is a physician in Winnetka in the San Fernando Valley. He was arrested March, 8, 2013 on two felony counts, unlawful sexual penetration and sexual battery.
The doctor allegedly committed sexual battery on a patient during a medical exam for federal immigration authorities.
“I would hate to think patients going to a doctor as part of a U.S. citizenship exam, or for any reason, would be subjected to this type of victimization,” said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona. “Investigators with the Medical Board are committed to protecting the public from physicians who prey on their patients.”
