On Monday, October 7, 2013 the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) Consumer Protection and Public Safety Foundation held its 3rd annual golf tournament at the beautiful Yocha Dehe Golf Club/ Cache Creek Casino Resort in Yolo County.
“The course was absolutely beautiful and only added to the success of our event,” said tournament director Tom Ineichen. “Yocha Dehe was a great venue and we saw some awesome golf scores.”
The day of golf concluded with an afternoon meal, awards and raffle. The many donated gifts and awards included wine, meals, hotel stays, golfing and autographed sports memorabilia.
Most importantly, the CSLEA Foundation golf tournament was successful in raising support for the Foundation Scholarship program.
“I extend my deepest, sincere thanks to our volunteers, our sponsors and all who participated,” said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona. “This event takes a lot to put on and allows us to help our CSLEA members help their children with higher education, for that we are extremely grateful. “
Generous support from last year’s golf tournament allowed the Foundation to award nine $1,000 scholarships to CSLEA members’ children. The scholarship award recipients were each showcased following the tournament.
“Thank you to all who make this possible,” said Ineichen. “We shared a lot of laughs, a lot of great stories and a lot of great golfing. To be able to help our members by offering these scholarships every year, is huge. See you next year!.”
