On Monday, January 27, 2014, California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) President Alan Barcelona and CSLEA Chief Financial Officer Ricardo Sanchez met with State Senator Alex Padilla (D-Pacoima). Alex shared his views on the state of the state and will be missed as he is termed limited out from the State Senate this year, having been first elected in 2006. Alex shared his views on his next goals: the open seat race for Secretary of State this June and November.
“Alex Padilla is an accomplished state senator who is a strong supporter of public safety starting with his days as a staffer and then L.A. City Councilmember,” said Barcelona. “He is an excellent candidate for Secretary of State as is his colleague State Senator Leland Yee (D-San Francisco) who is also running for that office. Both members have respect for our members and the jobs they perform on a daily basis protecting Californians where they live, work and play.”
The CSLEA Board of Directors along with the Political Action Committee is monitoring this and all statewide, state legislative and requisite local campaigns and will continue to track their process in the months ahead. Best of Luck!
