On Wednesday, August 6, 2014, California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) President Alan Barcelona, CSLEA Board Member Al Cardwood and CSLEA Legislative Consultant Craig Brown met with Republican candidate for State Assembly Chad Mayes.
Mayes, a financial consultant, is campaigning to represent residents in Assembly District 42 which includes parts of San Bernardino and Riverside Counties.
“We spoke with Chad Mayes about issues that our important to our law enforcement, public safety and consumer protection members,” said Barcelona. “Retirement security and health care benefits are two very big issues. Chad Mayes believes promises made by the government should be promises kept. He does not support altering pensions for current employees.”
During the meeting Mayes also addressed the challenge of maintaining adequate health care benefits for public employees.
“The CSLEA Political Action Committee believes Mayes will serve our members well and as a result CSLEA is endorsing Chad Mayes for State Assembly,” said Barcelona
