On Monday, September 22, 2014, the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) Consumer Protection and Public Safety Foundation held its 4th annual golf tournament at the Yocha Dehe Golf Club/ Cache Creek Casino Resort in Yolo County.
“We had a fun time out on the beautiful course and got to spend the day with a variety of great folks who are involved in law enforcement, public safety, consumer protection, labor associations and the political world,” said Tournament Director and CSLEA Board Member Tom Ineichen. “Each of them have a passion for providing support for scholarships for our CSLEA members and their immediate family members and for the CSLEA Foundation safety seminars, Schemes, Scams & Rip-offs which help to protect some of the most vulnerable citizens in California.”
The day of golf concluded with an afternoon meal, awards and raffle. The many donated gifts and awards included wine, meals, hotel stays, golfing and autographed sports memorabilia. Most importantly, the CSLEA Foundation golf tournament was successful in raising support for the CSLEA Consumer Protection and Public Safety Foundation.
“This event would not be possible without our many volunteers, our generous sponsors and all who participated,” said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona. “I would like to thank each and every one of them for supporting our effort to help our CSLEA members help their children with higher education and our effort to help seniors citizens and veterans protect themselves against fraud.”
Thanks to an overwhelming amount of generous support at last year’s golf tournament, the CSLEA Consumer Protection and Public Safety Foundation was able to award eight $1,000 scholarships this year to CSLEA members and their children. The scholarship award recipients were each showcased in a presentation following the golf tournament.
“I would like to thank all those who participated and gave in any way, including our volunteers and sponsors,” said Ineichen. “I can hardly wait for next year’s event.”

Why Support the CSLEA Consumer Protection & Public Safety Foundation?
Scholarships
The CSLEA Public Safety & Consumer Protection Foundation awards scholarships every year to the children of CSLEA members who are law enforcement, public safety and consumer protection professionals who work for the State of California.
This year, through generous donations to our non-profit foundation, we awarded eight $1,000 scholarships to our members or their children who are seeking higher education.
Protection Seminars Helping Seniors, Veterans & Immigrants
The CSLEA Consumer Protection & Public Safety Foundation teams up with top consumer protection and public safety advisers to present a variety of interesting and educational seminars designed for various groups including senior citizens, veterans and immigrants – three groups that scammers, schemers and rip-off artists target the most.
These seminars are hosted by Legislators in their home districts as they reach out to their constituents.
