On Saturday, September 6, 2014, the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) hosted a Membership Appreciation BBQ in Elk Grove. It is just one of the ways in which CSLEA thanks its valued members for their participation and for providing important public safety and consumer protection service for the State of California.
“This was our third BBQ this summer. It was a great afternoon with our members and their families,” said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona. “I enjoy getting to know everyone and thank all who attended. I hope everyone got a chance to visit with CLSEA leadership, our attorneys and our member services representatives. Our members provide vital law enforcement, public safety and consumer protection services and we thank them for their dedication and professionalism.”
Some of the fun included face painting, lawn games, two piñatas, and a photo booth.
Each CSLEA member received a CSLEA goody-bag , chances at raffle prizes and the opportunity to purchase CSLEA apparel.
Prior to the BBQ, CSLEA held a basic and advanced site representation class for those interested in improving their workplace, knowing their rights and having more involvement with CSLEA and its affiliate associations.
“My basic site representation class included 16 CSLEA members who learned about their contract, their bargaining unit, their workplace rights and how and when to reach out to us for help,” said CSLEA Senior Legal Counsel Andrea Perez. “It is very encouraging to see our members take an active role in their workplace and within CSLEA.”
