On September 5, 2014, the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association’s (CSLEA) Political Action Committee (PAC) attended a reception to support Board of Equalization Member Betty Yee for California State Controller.
“The event was an opportunity for CSLEA PAC members to visit with Betty Yee as well as other political leaders in a casual, friendly atmosphere,” said CSLEA Unit-A Vice President Kenny Ehrman. “Receptions such as this one allow us to know lawmakers and decision-makers in a comfortable setting so that when it is time to address issues for our CSLEA members, we have set a foundation for that type of discussion.”
Other CSLEA representatives in attendance included: CSLEA Board Member Frank Capetillo and Membership Committee Member Chris Ehrman.
Reception attendees also included State Controller John Chiang, Assemblyman Ted Lieu, and U.S. Congresswoman Janice Hahn.
As Chiang addressed those in attendance, he mentioned CSLEA members, stating that, when he was pressed, he refused to let hardworking Californians like the members of CSLEA have their pay reduced to federal minimum wage.
