On Saturday, September 27, 2014, Assemblymember Rudy Salas hosted two public safety seminars in the San Joaquin Valley, both of which California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) Unit-A Vice President Kenny Ehrman participated in as one of the law enforcement officers updating citizens of the latest schemes and scams that con artists are using to rip-off people.
“I have been up and down the State of California, participating in these seminars with various legislators, the State Bar of California and the California Bureau of Real Estate, to name a few of the participants,” said Ehrman. “The citizens who attended the seminars in Wasco and Avenal were so incredibly enthused to obtain information on how to protect themselves from scam artists. The seminars were very well received. We also had the Assistant Chief of Police and City Council Members at one of them.”
The first seminar was held Saturday morning at the Wasco Veterans Hall and was followed by an afternoon seminar at the Avenal Veterans Hall. The seminars provided information on how to avoid fraud and identity theft and how to safeguard private information.
