Coachella, CA – Coachella Mayor Eduardo Garcia’s campaign for State Assembly today announced the endorsement of the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA). CSLEA and their affiliates represent approximately 7,000 public safety employees: from 911 dispatchers to firefighters to special agents with the Department of Justice.
“I’m thrilled and honored to have the support of the CSLEA,” Garcia said. “Their members keep our community safe in so many critical ways – from stopping elder abuse and arresting sex offenders, to solving cold-cases, and keeping our state’s forests safe for recreation. With these diverse backgrounds, they have a unique perspective on public safety, and I look forward to working with them in Sacramento.”
Their support adds to the overwhelming support that Eduardo Garcia has received from the public safety community. Garcia has also earned the support of the California Association of Highway Patrolmen, the Peace Officers Research Association of California, the California Correctional Peace Officers Association, the Imperial County Probation and Corrections Peace Officers Association, the California Professional Firefighters, the California Department of Forestry & Fire Protection Firefighters, Local 2881, and Crime Victims United of California.
Garcia was the top vote getter in the June primary and has earned endorsements from the California Democratic Party, California Labor Federation, the Desert Sun, the Press Enterprise, Congressman Juan Vargas, Assemblymember V. Manuel Perez, and local elected leaders from across the 56th Assembly district. For a full list of endorsements please visit www.voteforgarcia.com
