At the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA), we know the professionals we represent have some pretty amazing jobs and at the Department of Justice, Bureau of Forensics Crime Labs, those professionals play a vital role in criminal justice.
“Without the very important, very sophisticated, very scientific work that our criminalists do, many criminal cases would fall apart,” said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona. “Recently I had the wonderful opportunity of spending a day at the crime lab in Ripon. Touring the facility and watching our senior criminalists at work only validated what I have experienced as a law enforcement officer, these highly educated, highly trained professionals can discover and/or confirm what happened at a crime scene, what happened to a victim, what weapon was used and who committed the crime. They’re a fascinating group of people with fascinating jobs.”
CSLEA would like to thank the California Department of Justice for our daylong visit at the crime lab in Ripon and looks forward to visiting DOJ crime labs in other regions to showcase the incredible work being done in the name of criminal justice.
