The officers of the California Organization of Licensing Registration Examiners (COLRE) are reviewing and will soon be adopting revised Bylaws for the CSLEA affiliate. They have also set the timetable for a Regional Director election. The board will consist of one member from each of Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) eight (8) regions.
The nomination period for eight (8) COLRE Regional Directors will open March 16, 2015 through the close of business on April 10, 2015. To be eligible to serve as a COLRE Regional Director, an examiner must be a full dues paying member in good standing with CSLEA/COLRE and a member of CSLEA for a minimum of two (2) consecutive years immediately prior to nomination. The examiner receiving the highest number of votes for Regional Director from the members in each region will be elected to the office. The board will then elect a President and Vice-President. The President will then appoint directors to fill the vacancies created by the election of the President and Vice -President and also appoint a Secretary and Treasurer. The President and Vice-President will serve four (4) year terms and the directors term of office is two (2)years.
Upon receipt of a nomination, the member will be contacted to confirm if he/she accepts the nomination. If the member accepts the nomination, his/her name will be added to the ballot. Ballots will be mailed to members on April 17, 2015 and must be received at CSLEA Headquarters no later than May 8, 2015.
