The California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) Board of Directors has voted to create a new membership class for seasonal lifeguards offering a special package of member benefits at a reduced seasonal lifeguard dues rate.
This new class of membership entitles State of California seasonal lifeguards to a $15,000 basic life insurance benefit, civil and criminal representation through the CSLEA Legal Defense Fund, and gives seasonal lifeguards the opportunity to serve as a CSLEA site representative.
“This new level of membership will offer some of the basic protections that seasonal lifeguards need and many go without,” said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona. “Seasonal lifeguards are on duty to protect, rescue and save lives. The very nature of what they do, puts them in harm’s way and opens them up to possible liabilities.”
While seasonal lifeguards are encouraged to obtain full CSLEA membership, the new Seasonal Member classification is now being offered for $50.00 per member per month. Seasonal lifeguards should view the Member Benefits Chart below to decide which level of membership is right for them. To sign up for full CSLEA membership click here.
