COMMERCE – On April 23, 2015, California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) Senior Legal Counsel Jim Vitko and Legal Counsel Erin Eckelman held an informational gathering for California Department of Insurance detectives interested  in learning  more about the Police Officer Bill of Rights and CSLEA.  Twenty-seven detectives from various offices in Southern California attended.

“We set up this meeting because we wanted to give our members more opportunities to learn about their rights under the Public Safety Officers Procedural Bill of Rights Act,” said Eckelman.   “We hope it was informative and we look forward to creating a training class where more members can attend.”

“I want to thank CSLEA Membership Services Representative Shelley Bishop, a retired ABC agent and CSLEA Board Member, and CSLEA attorneys Jim Vitko and Erin Eckelman for arranging this and reaching out to our members to answer their questions,” said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona.  “It’s when we are in the same room with our members that we obtain valuable feedback and in turn can assist them with very pertinent information”
