SACRAMENTO- The California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) Board of Directors welcomed California Assemblymember Jim Cooper to its 2015 second quarter board meeting on June 30, 2015.
“It is always great to see Assemblymember Jim Cooper. As one of just two current legislators with law enforcement experience, Assemblymember Cooper brings a wealth of knowledge to the State Capitol,” said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona. “Our board members were interested in his discussion about body cameras, union representation and pensions as they pertain to public employees. He is a believer in benefits promised should be benefits paid. The legislature will benefit from Assemblymember Cooper’s experience and stand for public safety.”
Cooper was sworn in as assemblymember December 1, 2014 and hit the ground running. He introduced more than a dozen bills and has helped to educate fellow legislators on law enforcement issues.
