“In this town hall, we will be talking to senior citizens about how to fight fraud and identity theft. The scams keep changing, and as investigators, we see that on a daily basis. We volunteer our time to bring this valuable information to those who want to be informed about how to best protect themselves.” – Kenny Ehrman, CSLEA Unit-A and FOP Lodge 77 vice president
LONG BEACH – On Saturday, August 1, 2015, senior citizens in Long Beach are invited to a “Schemes, Scams & Rip-off” town hall hosted by Assemblymember Patrick O’Donnell and Long Beach Councilmember Al Austin II, with special guest Congressman Alan Lowenthal. In addition to meeting their representatives, those in attendance will hear lively presentations from crime and scam-fighting experts, including California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) Unit A and Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 77 Vice President Kenny Ehrman.
“I am joined by representatives from the State Bar of California, California Bureau of Real Estate, and the California Department of Business Oversight, just to name a few,” said Ehrman.
“All of us know what scammers are doing to steal from senior citizens who have worked their whole lives to enjoy their retirement and senior years.”
The speakers address identity theft, real estate, lawyer, business and consumer service fraud.
The town hall will be held at the Expo Arts Center, 4321 Atlantic Avenue, Long Beach.
