SACRAMENTO – On August 20, 2015, California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) President Alan Barcelona attended a luncheon event for Assemblymember Jim Cooper at Burgess Brothers Burgers.
“It is always a pleasure sitting down and talking with Assemblymember Cooper,” said Barcelona. “Given his long history at the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department, 30 years in law enforcement, and serving on the Elk Grove City Council as a councilmember and mayor, Jim gets public safety and law enforcement issues. He understands the issues with body cams and use of force. He knows the importance of pensions and affordable health care benefits. His presence in the legislature is an asset for our members.”
Cooper represents California’s 9th Assembly District and has been appointed by Assembly Speaker Toni G. Atkins, as Chair of the Assembly Committee on Public Employees, Retirement, and Social Security.
