PITTSBURGH- California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge #77 directors and representatives attended the second full day of FOP’s 62nd Biennial Conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, August 11, 2015.
“This has been a great opportunity for our Lodge #77 directors and representatives to get fully acquainted with the Grand Lodge FOP, learn about the candidates running for office and to attend seminars pertinent to their law enforcement jobs, careers and association and lodge representation,” said CSLEA and FOP Lodge #77 President Alan Barcelona.
Some of the items on today’s conference agenda included an update from the Grand Lodge FOP Border Safety Committee which included the cartel, violence by illegal felons and Kate’s law, H.R. 3001.
Conference attendees also received an update from the Disaster Relief Committee regarding the assistance provided to members who have experienced loss. FOP has spent $1.2 million dollars since Hurricane Katrina, helping members effected by disaster.
In addition to the updates, FOP held it’s nominations for office with the election scheduled for August 13th. Both FOP President Chuck Canterbury and FOP Sgt. of Arms Roger Mayberry are running unopposed.
