SACRAMENTO- On behalf of the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) Political Action Committee (PAC), on September 9, 2015, President Alan Barcelona sent a letter of endorsement to Senator Cathleen Galgiani for her candidacy for reelection to the 5th Senate District.
“Cathleen Galgiani has served in the Assembly and the Senate for years, demonstrating her support for law enforcement and commitment to public safety,” said Barcelona. “She is someone we have been able to work with over the years and she truly cares about this state.”
Senator Galgiani worked to keep $20 million dollars in the 2015-2016 budget to help pay for frontline law enforcement. She introduced legislation, (which CSLEA supported) that would not allow someone convicted of murdering a peace officer to be eligible for medical parole or compassionate release.
“Galgiani has been involved in legislation regarding date rape drugs, dangerous felons who are in this country illegally and online predators, to name few,” said Barcelona. “CSLEA looks forward to continuing our great working relationship with Senator Galgiani in the years ahead.”
