“These are new employee orientations that we are conducting,” said Member Services Representative George Pina. “There’s so much information to absorb when you’re beginning any new job, and so we like to visit with the employees within our bargaining unit to see how they are doing and to introduce ourselves and our benefits and services.”
During Pina’s visit to the CALFIRE Academy in Ione on January 20, 2016, he and CSLEA Member Services Representative Marco Castro spoke with 11 communications operators. The pair also visited with new employees at the Department of Consumer Affairs in Sacramento on January 19, 2016 and a hospital police officer at Napa State Hospital on January 21, 2016.
“When you visit with Bargaining Unit 7 employees, you really get a true sense of the public safety and consumer protection jobs they perform for the State of California,” said Pina. “There are more than 200 job classifications in our bargaining unit, and each person holds a key to the public safety and the consumer protection of the citizens of California.”
