Enhanced Individual Long Term Disability for both Sworn and Non-Sworn members of CSLEA
At the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) we know how important it is to protect your income in the event that you become disabled on or off the job. Long Term Disability (LTD) insurance is particularly important for CSLEA members because many State employees, including those in Unit 7, are not covered by State Disability Insurance (SDI).
CSLEA-sponsored Enhanced Individual LTD Plans are offered to members through the California Law Enforcement Association or CLEA ( not to be confused with CSLEA). These plans offer group and individual rates significantly less than other comparable plans on the market.
CLEA LTD plans for Unit 7 peace officers have been available for some time. CSLEA and CLEA have introduced a brand new LTD plan for non-sworn members. To celebrate the roll out of the new plan, CSLEA will pay the first month’s premium for any member (sworn on non-sworn) who becomes a new enrollee in a CLEA LTD plan in the month of February or March.
What is the CLEA LTD Plan?
It’s paycheck protection at an affordable cost –
$29.50 per month for non-peace officer members, $25.12 for peace officer members, payroll deduction through CSLEA
65% – 80% of wages including incentives for off-duty Non-Industrial and on-duty Industrial disabilities
Pays in addition to all other Individual Supplemental Plans i.e. AFLAC, Allstate, etc.
$200 per month Minimum Benefit
$20,000 Death Benefit for on-duty or off-duty natural, accidental, or terminal illness

You are only eligible to participate in a CLEA LTD Plan if you are a full member of CSLEA.
