“It’s so important for us to reach out to our seniors, let them know we care, share with them the do’s and don’ts in protecting themselves from fraudulent activity and to be there to answer their questions.” -CSLEA FOP Lodge 77 Vice President and CSLEA Foundation Chairman Kenny Ehrman
DUARTE- On Friday, February 19, 2016, CSLEA FOP Lodge 77 Vice President and CSLEA Foundation Chairman Kenny Ehrman will join a panel of fraud prevention experts to help educate senior citizens in Duarte (Los Angeles County) on fraud prevention tips. The Senior Fraud Prevention workshop is hosted by Assemblymember Roger Hernandez.
Ehrman will speak to seniors in attendance about identity theft, steps that can be taken to help protect against it, and what to do if it happens. He will be joined by representatives from the California Department of Real Estate, California Department of Business Oversight, and the Los Angeles County Department of Consumer Affairs.
“Last year, the CSLEA Foundation participated in dozens of seminars that included groups of people who scam artists target the most,” said Ehrman. “Those groups include seniors, immigrants and veterans. We invite seniors, their families and their caregivers to attend this free workshop in Duarte, February 19th. Bring your questions, that’s what we are there for.”
The seminar is free, but an RSVP is requested. For more information or to RSVP, please call (626) 960-4457.
