SACRAMENTO -On Monday, April 18, 2016, CSLEA submitted the remainder of affiliate proposals to the State bargaining team. Most of the day was focused on classifications within the California Association of Law Enforcement Employees (CALEE). CALEE President and CSLEA Chief Financial Officer Ricardo Sanchez was present to oversee and facilitate the presentation. Greg Bolima, a Communications Operator with Parks and Recreation started the session. Then Steve Bradley, president of the State Employed Firefighters Association (SEFFA) returned to the table to complete the presentation of proposals on behalf of his members.
The afternoon session commenced with the participation of Department of Justice Field Representative Melissa Bonetti, Criminal Identification Specialist II, Amanda McDavid, and Security Officer Gaby Arcebide.
Seasonal Lifeguard II Andy Umlor and California Science Center Museum Security Officer Jesus Solorzano presented via Skype from the CSLEA Southern Office.
Bargaining is scheduled to resume on May 2, 2016 with additional dates May 19-20 scheduled. At the upcoming sessions, CSLEA will introduce the remaining unit-wide proposals and the State will resume presentation of its proposed changes. The parties will also begin the first pass through of the entire existing MOU for clean up and rollover, i.e. language that will be unchanged in the new contract.
