During the previous session of bargaining on May 2, 2016, John Miller, president of AC-DOJ, returned to the table to further articulate a proposal on behalf of the Department of Justice Criminalists classifications. He was followed by the return of Matt Yarbrough, president of RPPOA, who was present to address an officer and public safety issue concerning the existing shortage of Parks Communications Operators.
CSLEA then presented a number of Unit-wide proposals which concluded its presentation. Cal HR then offered several proposals that the State would like to see included in a successor agreement.
That brings the total number of formal negotiations sessions to eight (8), with two (2) remaining sessions scheduled on May 19th and 20th. It is hoped that a framework for a new tentative agreement will be in place by end of the upcoming sessions. Any tentative agreement that is reached will be subject to ratification by the CSLEA membership and the State legislature.
