SAN DIEGO – Congratulations to California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) and California Association of Criminal Investigators (CACI) Member Darryl Hayes on his silver medal-winning performances at the United States Police and Fire Championships held at the University of California – San Marcos this month.
Hayes, an investigator at Metropolitan State Hospital (MSH), earned silver medals in the 400-meter dash (:59.020), the 800-meter run (2:47.360) and long jump (14′ 11.13″). This brings his personal silver medal count to seven.
Pressing forward, Hayes is now training to run a half marathon before the end of the year. Hayes’ colleagues are very proud of the example Hayes sets for health and physical fitness. “I thank the Lord for his goodness and for always pushing me to be the best version of myself,” Hayes told them.
“There was no doubt in our minds that Darryl’s training, sacrifice, and efforts would not produce any medals!” said Investigator Roberto Camacho on behalf of MSH Office of Special Investigations.
“Investigator Hayes is an inspiration to those in all age groups,” said CSLEA President Alan Barcelona. “Setting goals, he is achieving them and staying in good shape and good health along the way. Congratulations Investigator Hayes, CSLEA is proud of you.”
