Dear Police Chief David O. Brown,
It is with deep sadness in my heart that I express my sincere sympathy to you and our brethren, that you so bravely lead at the Dallas Police Department. No words can express the devastated blow we feel to our guts, the deep grief that is heavy in our chests, and the tears that burn in our eyes. The men and women in your department, while under fire, were beyond courageous as they ran toward danger to protect those they didn’t even know, and to protect their own brothers and sister in blue who fell victim to a incomprehensible attack on peace officers, the keepers of peace, the guardians of safety.
We are well aware that today, you have officers back on the streets, that your department cannot come to a halt while grieving and attending to the families of your fallen officers. To those officers, we send our strength, we send our admiration for standing tall and remaining committed to protecting and serving.
On behalf of the more than 7,000 law enforcement, public safety and consumer protection professionals the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) and California Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge 77 represents, I want you to know that we stand by Dallas PD and the Dallas Police Association. We pray for your fallen officers, injured officers, their families and your department. We believe in you, we support you, we thank you.
Fraternally,
Alan Barcelona
CSLEA & California FOP Lodge 77 President
