CSLEA has been informed that legislative ratification of the recent tentative agreement will occur when the legislature returns from recess in August. Although it was the parties’ belief the agreement would be passed as part of the budget, due to the length of the State review process it was not possible to get the Unit 7 Contract included. CSLEA has been assured that the General Salary Increase and Special Salary Adjustments due on July 1 will be paid retroactively once the contract is ratified by the legislature and signed by the Governor. Other items such as physical fitness and longevity pay will take effect the pay period following ratification as specified by terms of the contractual language. CSLEA will provide additional information on the completion of the ratification process as it becomes available. The new reimbursement rates for business and travel will also be effective July 1.
NOTE: The new agreement increases the amount of education incentive for peace officer members who possess AA/AS and BA/BS degrees by $25. Those who have been receiving education incentive for Intermediate and Advanced POST certificates which were previously equivalent to the college degree incentives, may not have submitted proof of attainment for college degrees as the pay in non-cumulative. You may wish to confirm with your personnel office whether you have submitted proof of attainment which would qualify you for a higher incentive. |
